She Is Something I Think Everybody Should Have One Good Friend

My Besti

My BESTI
You came out of know were
I was a complete bitch
To you for a year, then we finally talked
I haven’t had any friends since getting
Pregnet with my son at 17
I am now 21

You are 10 years older than me
Have been trew so much pain
And yet have kept your heart
You are full of light and laughter
You are the person i go to for advice
You’re the person that truly knows me
The real me
I share all of me with you
And you except me never judge
Most people dream of a friendship like ares
I never thought I would have a friend in my adult life
We lived across the street from each other
For years
Then we moved away we tend to talk every few months and catch each other up on as much drama as we can remember
We make each other laugh and love each other
She is something I think everyone should have
At least one good friend

  1. So good to know that you have had wonderful BESTI like this! In my life I had a BESTI too. We were an unlikely pair. We met in high school. She was a bit of a wild child. Her boyfriend was a biker, and she mixed with some rough company. I was odd and mostly kept to myself. She was in a motorcycle accident and ruined one of her legs. Months of bed rest and many surgeries. I volunteered to take her her homework. She was very bitter at first and wouldn’t talk much. No more biker boyfriend. Somehow I knew just what to say to make her laugh. We became fast friends and could talk about anything. We were close all our lives until she died two years ago. I do miss her so. Love this poem, Lynn. How are you today?

    1. Aww I’m sorry. That was definitely a long friendship most don’t last that long. Glad you found each other. Mine seems to not really be there for me the past few years so might give up on it. Seems like I’m the only one trying anymore like I’m burdening her with my problems. I am super sore and tired. My son had back to school night and I died haha highschool and so many stairs and walking. I just wanted to lay on the floor hahah so glad tomorrow’s Friday really need to rest.

  2. I saw an ad for a fidget lap blanket on pinterest and I ordered one for my mother who is 98 and suffering from dementia. She has been in a nursing home for 10 years now and doesn’t know me any more. She doesn’t speak, but just sits and hums while staring into space. These blankets are supposed to be something to do with their hands. They have things on them like zippers, rows of beads, different kinds of fur and textured fabric to run your hands over. I am hoping she will like it. She lived with us for a long time, and cared for me when I was really sick and had to stop working so long ago. I miss her. She has been such a loving person all her life. I miss the real her. I am OK today, sitting around with a heating pad on my poor arthritic hips, and listening to music while I crochet. Pain has become such a constant now that I am almost used to it. Are you that way? It is my turn to push you in the hammock in our place. I am bringing some chocolate chip cookies that I made for us to enjoy together. See you there!

    1. I’m sorry she has lived a long life. My grandmother had alzheimer’s it’s such a horrible disease. I’m sure she’ll love it. I feel with you pain is definitely a constant pain in my butt haha and we definitely get used to it. Yummy chocolate and your company can really make a bad day good. Have a restful weekend friend. Hopefully your pain will ease up.
