Do You Know What It Feels Like?

Do You Know What It Feels Like

Do you know what it feels like
To know this house will never be your home
To know that you can be kicked out on the street at any moment
To know that he knows you have nowhere to go
Do you know what it feels like
To know that car that’s in your name Isn’t yours
To know when you’re kicked out, you won’t have a vehicle to leave in
To know he knows you have no way to leave
Do you know what it feels like
To know nothing I do will ever matter
To know that no matter of work will equal to his job
To know that because I don’t get paid for my daily efforts, I dont own shit
Do you know what it feels like
To know that you have to sit there and endure his daily wrath
To know you and your kids will be emotionally abused once again
To know in the end it’s all of us that’s the problem, and he’s the victim
Do you know what it feels like
To know you have nowhere to go, no help
To know that you need to leave to save yourself and, more importantly, my kids
God, I hope you don’t know what it feels like
I hope you never know
But there’s a part of me that thinks you might know
For that, Im dearly sorry

  1. This poem makes me so sad. You have to deal with so much in your life. Wish I could do more to ease your burdens, my friend. I can offer only our place and the ability we have to vent about our problems there, as well as an escape to the beauty of this place and and to know that there we can share peace and laughter together. I know that going to our place is what keeps me going some days. Today i am bringing a high-end chocolate bar to our place for us to share. Are you doing OK?

    1. Your friendship is enough. I’m so glad I found you, dear friend. I’m struggling this week. I haven’t had one of my pills for 2 weeks, and I have literally been bed redden. It’s an upper pill. My insurance is saying I need prior authorization trying to call nero, and the line doesn’t even ring. So i dont have the energy for life right now. Also, my husband’s grandpa is in the hospital, so we drove out there Friday morning and back that night. They live in Las Vegas, so 4 hrs each way. He’s not doing too well. We might drive out there later today or tomorrow.

  2. So sorry to hear about your husband’s grandpa. These things are so hard. I have lost so many people at my age, and it never seems to get easier. My thoughts are with you, Lynn. We can escape to our place for comfort.
