I Learned How To Walk Away Without Hate In My Heart

I Learned How

I learned how to say OK
Instead of giving them the satisfaction of arguing back
I learned how to take shit without flipping out
I learned to focus on the good instead of the bad in someone
I learned not to waste my energy fighting the same fights
I learned to be more sympathetic to things I can’t see
I learned how to truly forgive and be free
I learned that some people are not worth my sanity
I learned to be a neutral party instead of being involved
I learned to laugh more than cry whenever possible
To find the joy threw all the shit
I learned that staying silent brings me more peace
I learned that writing has healed the silent girl I have shoved down for so long
I learned how to walk away without hate in my heart

  1. Good for you, Lynn! A very empowering poem! My mood is still good, and I am listening to music and reading. I go to get flu and covid shots this afternoon. Sometimes I get a reaction to these shots, so we will see tomorrow. How are you doing today? Any news about your jobs? Wonderful with you in our place!

  2. Good for you, girl. I’m still on the journey
